Dear HEC Paris MBA participants,
Congratulations on joining our MBA Program! We are thrilled to welcome you to the HEC family.
At the HEC Paris MBA, our mission is to transform high-potential managers into tomorrow’s leaders. In joining us, you are entering a truly multicultural environment made up of approximately 60 nationalities with a diverse range of professional backgrounds. This unique international student body with an average class size of 300 fosters leadership development and prepares you for the global job market.
We believe that leadership is a transformative process which is possible through a rigorous combination of academic theory and learning by doing. We teach you the theories behind leadership, then offer plenty of hands-on, practical experiences to put those theories to the test. Our holistic, evidence-based approach to leadership development helps our students to develop the knowledge and skills it takes to become a leader with the character, competence, and courage to change the world. Built on a “head, hands, and heart” framework, our leadership curriculum focuses on knowledge acquisition (the “head”), skills development (the “hands”), and providing students space to find their own unique leadership purpose (the “heart”).
Integrated into our curriculum are student-run seminars and events designed to hone your leadership and management skills. We encourage you to get involved from day one, join a club, and eventually lead one. There are many options to put your leadership skills to the test. The MBA Tournament is an entirely participant-run, three-day multisport event in which you not only organize but also compete while you welcome more than 1500 MBAs from the best business schools in Europe to HEC Paris. Another example is the Outdoor Leadership Seminar, which helps you learn leadership skills and tests your abilities to manage a team under challenging circumstances. Such experiences give you the opportunity to transfer the knowledge that you learn in the classroom into real-life situations.
Earning an MBA at HEC Paris will not only equip you with the skills needed to transform your career; it will also give you the network and contacts to support your professional development. Each HEC Paris MBA participant receives customized job-search advice from alumni, consultants and counselors within our Career Center before they are exposed to the hundreds of job recruiters who visit campus every year. Upon graduation from HEC Paris, you will join the 70,000+ strong Alumni network, which spans the globe and encompasses myriad job sectors, and will offer you a bridge to the international job market.
